How to Install Windows 7 using a DVD (Beginners) (with Pictures & video).


Before starting the installation we should make sure that the computer meets all the Hardware requirements for installing Windows 7:

Minimum Hardware requirements to install windows 7:

1. 1 GHz 32 bit processor.
2. 1Gb RAM for good performance.
3. Graphics adapter that supports Direct x 9 graphics. Minimum 512 Mb of Graphics memory.
4. 20 GB free Hard disk space.

2. Home basic
3. Home premium
4. Professional
5. Enterprise
6. Ultimate




Following are the step by step instruction to install windows 7 using a DVD disk:

First - Insert your DVD to your PC DVD-ROM.
Second - Enter your computer's BIOS to setup boot from CD-ROM Drive (Step-1, Step-2, Step-3). 
Third - Star Windows installation from Step-4.

Step-1: Enter your computer's BIOS to setup boot from CD-ROM Drive. Turn off the computer that you want to install Windows on then turn it back on. When the BIOS screen appears or you are prompted to do so, press Del, Esc, F2, F10, or F9 (depending on your computer’s motherboard) to enter the system BIOS. The key to enter the BIOS is usually shown on the screen.



Step-2: Find your BIOS's boot options menu. Select the CD-ROM drive as the first boot device of your computer. (See screenshot below).




Step-3: Save the changes of the settings. Press the button indicated on the screen or select the save option from the BIOS menu to save your configuration. (See screenshot below).




Step-4: Restart your computer. The computer will ask you to ‘Press any key to boot from CD/DVD’ in a black screen. Press any key on your keyboard and it will start loading the operating system from the DVD. (screenshot below).



Step-5: Once Windows Setup loads, you'll be presented with a window. Select your preferred language, keyboard type, and time/currency format, then click Next. (screenshot below).
 


Step-6: Click the Install Now button. (screenshot below).


Step-7: Here choose your edition in Windows 7 starter to Ultimate (Ultimate is max functional). Select bit x86 or x64. x86 means 32 bit & x64 means 64 bit. Use x64 if your PC configuration is good & your motherboard software support. (screenshot below).


Step-8: Accept the License Terms. Read over the Microsoft Software License Terms, check I accept the license terms, and click Next. (screenshot below).




Step-9: Select the Custom (Advanced) installation. (screenshot below).




Step-10: Format the Prtition1: System Reserved & Prtition2 (or which drive you want to install windows) from drive options (advanced). Select Prtition2 (or which drive you want to install windows) & click to Next (screenshot below).




Step-11: Windows will start the installation. Now the installation status screen appears. You will have to wait for the following tasks to get complete. The computer will restart several times during this process so do not worry. (screenshot below).


Step-12: After successful installation of Windows 7 it will ask you to specify the ‘computer name’. It will also ask you enter a ‘User account’ and ‘Password’. Enter the password in the respective field and also the password hint, click ‘Next’. (screenshot below).


Step-13: Now a window to set time on your computer will be displayed. Set the correct ‘Time Zone’, date and click ‘Next’ option. (screenshot below).


Step-14: The ‘Computer network location’ option will be displayed if your computer is already connected to a network. Select ‘Network type’. (screenshot below).


Step-15: Windows will now finalize the setup and start to prepare your Windows 7 Desktop. (screenshot below).
