How to create partition in a new hard drive.
In new hard drive all space of hard drive will unallocated. You have to create drive. You can do it before installation of operating system or after installation of operating system.
Create partition in a new hard drive before installation of operation system:
(i) In installation process when ask you "where do you want to install windows?". You see hard drive full volume as a unallocated space. Click on unallocated space & click to New from bottom. Now give the size of first partition in MB. Example: If you want to make your drive 100GB, than write the size 102500MB ((100*1024)+100) to show finally exact 100GB partition. Here,1024MB = 1GB & 100 for allowance. Click to Apply. For first partition, it will make a System Reserved partition as a Partition 1 & Partition 2 (Local disk (C:)) will be 100GB partition.
(ii) For more partition, click on unallocated space & click to New from bottom. Now give the size of the partition in MB & click to Apply.
Create partition in a new hard drive after installation of operation system:
(i) Click mouse left button on start icon (). Click mouse right button on Computer & click to Manage.
(ii) Click to Disk Management. Mouse right click on unallocated space & click New Simple Volume.
(iii) Click to Next. Write the Simple volume size in MB. Example: If you want to make your drive 100GB, than write the size 102500MB ((100*1024)+100) to show finally exact 100GB partition. Here,1024MB = 1GB & 100 for allowance. Click to Next.
(iv) Assign the following drive letter & click to Next.
(v) Format the volume in NTFS file system & perform a quick format. Click Next and click to Finish.
